Big update

It’s been a while since updating this blog, more precisely its been 3 years since i purchased this dream boat of a van. All major welding has been completely and I finally sprayed it a nice shade of green. I was at the campervan campout festival staring at my van is the display section coming to the realisation all my welding and replaced body panels where oozing rust once again. I had never properly sealed the metal, as I didn’t think it would take this long to get to the painting stage. my heart had sank, so i did what any normal person would do 2 weeks before they planned to get married, I started to sand down the van, in preparation for a new coat. I planned for 2 weeks, it took 6. We still got married and we are still together.

to break down the series of work. I didn’t have time between van requirements, so i tackled the wings and structure first, and painted them the colour i thought i’d like, just turned out not to be true.

after a few months, the rest of the van was prepped and a new colour was bought.

As Hanz emerged from is shelter, leaving behind a green silhouette, and before his tyres crossed the driveway threshold, I thought it be best to get some snaps, while he was the most pristine he’ll probably ever be. In all I am happy, not because he’s “Done”, because that’s not true, but that the work I have already done, is not being undone. There is most definitely still rust. It is on my list, and will probably wait until winter when work slows down and we do not require Hanz’s services
